Opening arguments in the trial of Hip-Hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs. He's accused of running a criminal enterprise to coerce women into having sex. 8 men and 4 women will hear the evidence and so will members of the Combs family. She didn't win the title and her disappointment was all over her face. Plus, President Trump's plan to accept a plane from Qatar to use as the new Air Force One is being widely criticized by both Democrats 'and' Republicans. The constitution prohibits presidents from receiving gifts from foreign entities - and The White House says they are working out the legal details. Mr. Trump says he would be 'stupid’ to turn down a free plane. And more than eight years ago Kim Kardashian was robbed inside her Paris hotel room. 10 million dollars worth of her jewelry was stolen. The man now known as Pope Leo has for years been known as 'Father Bob,' - in fact, that's always been how he preferred to be addressed. It's just one of ten things you might not know about the new Pope. And a dramatic victim impact statement delivered in court, but the person speaking is dead-- killed in a deadly road rage act of violence. In what's believed to be a first in trial history, the judge gave the family permission to use A.I. technology so the slain man could speak directly to his killer. Plus, with the selection of a jury in the Sean Diddy Combs case almost complete, prosecutors are preparing for opening arguments on Monday -- but they admit there's a snag. One of their key witnesses against the rapper appears to have gone missing. Diddy has pled not guilty. This comes as we learn that Combs' ex-girlfriend, who was seen on video being assaulted by the rapper, is pregnant. And if you're traveling to the United States, you will probably have your pick of plane seats. In what many say is reaction to tariffs and the political climate, there has been a huge drop in recent weeks in travel to the U.S. To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The new pope is American! For the first time ever, a cardinal who was born in the United States has just been appointed the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Cardinal Robert Prevost has been elected to lead the worlds 1.4 billion Catholics and he has chosen as his papal name, Leo. The reaction to his selection was electric, here in the USA, and especially in the square outside St Peters. And it's standard procedure - when a big game ends the spectators leave...but some Knicks fans were so stoked over their team's phenomenal comeback in the second game of the playoffs last night in Boston, they wouldn't go home - leading to a very overwhelmed worker at the arena. Plus, the national retail association says the average American spends 259 dollars on Mother's Day and a lot of that is on flowers. However, this year flowers might be more expensive due to the tariffs on imported goods. And Vatican City isn't the only place a new pope has been named! If you're travelling domestically by air, check your driver’s license. If it doesn’t have a special symbol indicating that it is a Real I.D., you'll need your passport to get on the plane. If you don’t have either document, you may be facing some trouble getting on board flight without one. And testimony continues in the Karen Read trial after jurors are getting an earful when they listened to voice mail messages the defendant left for her Boston cop boyfriend in the hours before he was found dead. A witness testified Read called him at least 50 times. Plus, a tragic end for a father and son who were flying in their kit-built plane when they lost control, and it crashed into a house. The plane's passengers were killed. Now the homeowner says he has to live somewhere else for at least a year because of the damage. And video of Super Bowl winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes and some buddies tooling around Miami in a cart is causing concern. One guy is standing on the back. It comes just days after football legend John Elway’s friend and agent died in a golf cart accident. A lot of people have gates to keep their property secure, but that didn’t stop a man from barreling through the gate at Jennifer Aniston’s house. After crashing the gate, Aniston’s private security guard held the driver until cops could make an arrest. And how is it possible that a pair of Pit Bulls responsible for killing a dog in January would be in a position to attack another dog? A Chihuahua named Penny was terribly injured when the same dogs attacked her. Now, an entire neighborhood is asking that the owners of the vicious dogs be held responsible. Plus, it's the Oscars of the fashion world and last night stars from Hollywood, the music, and sports worlds all came together for the annual Met Ball. But the queen of the evening was without a doubt 81-year-old Diana Ross...who ruled the night in an 18-foot train. It was a concert for the record books... more than two million people gathered for a free concert in Rio given by Lady Gaga. You expect security to be tight for an event like this and it was - for good reason. Today we're learning more about how concert officials neutralized a bomb threat that could have ended in disaster. And ordinarily rapper Sean Diddy Combs would be attending the annual Met Costume Gala this evening. Instead, he's in court for day one of his federal trial on sex trafficking charges. Plus, even supporters of President Trump say a meme he sent out was too far. Over the weekend, the president posted an image of himself as Pope, joking that he'd like to be Pope. Coming as the college of cardinals is about to meet in its secret conclave to select the next pontiff, there is an uproar over what many call a tasteless post. And now a reminder that Wednesday is the deadline to get your Real ID driver's license. You'll need it to travel domestically by plane. At least two arrests in connection with the purse snatching of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Turns out both suspects are allegedly career criminals in the country illegally -- unaware of whose bag was being nabbed. As a White House official said today, they picked the wrong person. And you've probably seen that spectacular footage of a boat crash over the weekend on Lake Havasu. They were hoping to make history with a new speed record, but instead they've made different headlines. Incredibly, they're alive to read them. Plus, when you're trying to sell a book, you need to get noticed - and former Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichick is definitely getting noticed, thanks to his much-younger girlfriend who put the kibosh on one question during an interview. This is not something they cover during the airline safety briefing. If the ceiling starts to fall in, hold it up. That's exactly what happened on a Delta jet from Atlanta to Chicago. Passengers found themselves holding up the ceiling at 30,000 feet! And the crazy thing is - the same problem happened on another Delta jet on the same day! And an air quality alert for the Big Apple ... and the reason is wildfires. More than 15,000 acres in New Jersey have been burned and the smoke is now in New York City. The smoke may become so bad to breathe we could see the return of masks. Plus, in Vatican City, a steady stream of mourners have passed by the casket of the late Pope Francis. On day two of the three-day period of viewing, when the public was first admitted into St. Peters, there was a bit of a bottleneck -- but, the lines are moving rather quickly. Perhaps because church officials decided to keep the basilica open overnight. And more than 3.6 million babies were born in the U.S. last year. That sounds like a lot -- but it's below the birthrate needed to maintain the population stable through births alone. President Trump wants to address that - by paying women $5000 to have a child. The faithful poured into Vatican City today to pay their respects to Pope Francis whose body will lie in state inside St. Peter’s Basilica for three days leading up to Saturday’s funeral. There's nothing more majestic than the funeral of a Pope and even though Pope Francis left instructions that things should be toned down to reflect his modesty, it's still quite a spectacle. And back home in the states, a couple feels lucky to be alive after they were robbed at gunpoint. Just as they were coming home from dinner, three men with guns came out of nowhere, and the couple immediately gave them everything - - even their clothes off their back. Plus, less politics. More business. That's the word from Elon Musk after announcing Tesla's profits have dropped a staggering 71%. And he's rebranding the CyberTruck... suggesting it's less space age and more plain ole' truck. And according to President Trump's latest physical, he weighs 224 pounds... a lot less than his highest weight. Now a report in the daily beast questions whether he has Ozempic to thank. At the moment the late pontiff's body remains in a chapel inside his private residence, but tomorrow he will be moved to St. Peter's basilica, where the Pope will lie in repose in an open casket so the faithful here in Rome may pay their last respects. And back home in the states, opening statements began today in the retrial of Karen Read - the woman accused of murdering her Boston cop boyfriend by mowing him down with her SUV. As Read entered the court for her second trial, she said she was feeling anxious, but ready. Plus, every minute, an estimated 500 purses are stolen in the United States. And over the weekend, the purse belonging to homeland security secretary Kristi Noem was one of them. As you may have heard, her bag was snatched while she was dining at a DC restaurant with her family on Easter Sunday. The thief got away with 3 thousand dollars cash and Noem's government access badge - which raises security concerns. And eleven years ago, an adorable little girl named Grace was dying of stage four cancer. Around the world, 1.4 billion Catholics, along with people of all faiths, are mourning the death of Pope Francis. There had been worries over the Pope's health in recent months after his five-week hospital stay for pneumonia... and when he appeared at the Vatican yesterday for Easter, there were hopes he was doing better... but that comeback is now being seen as a goodbye. And Pope Francis is known as one of the most humble papal figures in the catholic church's history. And as we saw during his trip to the states, he didn't want to be seen as just an untouchable icon, waving from the Vatican balcony. He was dubbed the people's Pope because he liked to get up close and personal. Plus, in public, Pope Francis usually took a serious tone - talking about the world's problems. But behind the scenes those close to him say he liked a good joke like the rest of us. That's why he was all smiles last year when he hosted 100 famous comedians at the Vatican. And a retiree working as an Uber driver to help pay the bills, ended up stuck in her vehicle on train tracks, and started panicking. She called 911 just as a good Samaritan came to her aide carrying her out of her car... with a speeding train just seconds away. Police bodycam video is answering some of the mysteries surrounding the death of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife. And there's one very poignant moment -- as cops discover the bodies, they see one of the couple's beloved dogs keeping watch - loyal to the very end. And she's the teacher who cops say attended a party at the principal's house involving alcohol and drugs and 200 students, many of them underage. Now just-released bodycam video from the moment police arrive at the party shows the teacher telling them she's not drunk, but based on how she was acting, they don't believe her. Cops arrested her for disorderly conduct and intoxication. The teacher denies the criminal allegations. Plus, some shoppers got quite the scare when a bear showed up- at the mall- leading to lots of screams and shoppers running for their lives. And Elon Musk is said to be the father of 14 kids with four different women, but a bombshell report in the Wall Street Journal questions if those numbers are a lot higher.
